Zimbabwan Christmas

In Zimbabwe everyone is exited in Christmas eve. Everyone is impatient for the day.
In Zimbabwe christmas starts with church in the morning. They visit all their family and friends while going home and party. In every house they have something to eat and to exchange presents.
They play a lot of African music that they like a lot. They play it really loudly. The party is also to show off with their clothes.
In Zimbabwe also children beleive that santa Clause gives the presents in the morning.
Only the main room is decorated in Zimbabwe because they don't have enough money to decorate the whole house.

Christmas in Austria

Austrian people have a christmas tree the tree is very important.
They have olso presents lots of presents. They have to eat salmon bread chees and so on.
They celebrate christmas on the 24th of december. In the night they go into the chruch and then they celebrate christmas at home.

In Sweden you usaully celebrate christmas like a family around the christmas tree. A lot of people go to church on christmas morning. Then they have a great feast with lots of food. The day that people open the presents is either the 24th or the 25th but is mostly the 24th. The time that you open the presents is always a happy time of the day. You also watch traditional Donald Duck cartoons.

Christmas in Ghana

66 languages are spoken in Ghana and all these language groups have their own traditions and customs! Their Christmas is from the 20th of December to the first week of January. They usually go across the country to meet their family. Christmas Eve night is the time when the celebrations really start with Church services that have drumming and dancing. Children often put on a Nativity Play or other drama. Then choirs come out to sing and people come out in front of the priests to dance. Songs are mostly sang in the languages that the people understand best. This makes them feel that God speaks their language. Sometimes these services and dancing go on all night long! Somepeople on the other hand celebrate with parties and fireworks.

Iran does not have christmas so they celebrate new year on the first day of easter. That is in March and the tradition is to have two fish on the table and some other things are apples gold coins and grass and a mirrior and candels.You also have a clock and easter eggs. You give each other presents.This is a big familly occasion.

Christmas in China

Chinese people dont really celebrate Christmas, But in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai they have huge Christmas trees, lights, department stores etc. Only 1% of the people in China actually celebrate it. Some people in the countryside doesnt even know what christmas is! If some families has Christmas trees at home its only plastic. At Christmas people usually go outside and take walks on the busy streets.

So if you want a real Christmas celebration DONT GO TO CHINA. but if you want to see huge christmas trees and lovely lights go there!!! Beleive me I've been there, alot to see but still pretty BORING.

usually families in the UK would celebrate christmas together so they can see each other open their presents. most families will have a christmas tree or maybe even 2. everyone in the family helps decorate the christmas tree. Holly,ivy and mistletoe are also used to decorate homes in the UK. Nativity plays and carols are very popular at christmas. Children beleive that father christmas or santa claus puts presents in their sockings and under the tree. Children also leave food and drink for santa when he comes. Children wright a list of things they want for christmas. In scotland new year can be more important than christmas.!! The traditional christmas meal is eaten on christmas day. usually you eat roast goose, turkey, roast vegetables, bacon and sausages.

Christmas in Nigeria is a family event. Its a time when lots of family members come together to celebrate and have fun. Most families, go to the villages where their grandparents and older relatives live.

Many families will throw Christmas parties that will last all night long on Christmas Eve. Then, on Christmas Morning, they go to church to give thanks to God. Homes and streets are often decorated and most homes will have an artificial Christmas tree. They celebrate christmas a lot like in western europe.

Christmas in Madagascar

Madagascar is an Island off the east coast of Africa, so it is very warm at Christmas time in Madagascar! Even though it's hot, common decorations include holly, robins and snow even though none of them exist in Madagascar! Most Madagascan's only exchange small presents. In Madagascar, Santa Claus is called 'Dadabe Noely'.
Most people go to Church on Christmas Eve in Madagascar. The services start about 5.00pm and last until after midnight! Different groups in the Church, especially children, perform songs and plays celebrating the birth of Jesus. People also go to Church on Christmas Day as well. After the Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service, churches give out sweets or biscuits to the people in the Church.

A special Christmas food in Madagascar are fresh lychees, which are bought from shops and street sellers, fresh from the trees. The streets get covered in lychee skins!
Poinsettias also grow as large outdoor shrubs in Madagascar and don't just flower at Christmas!

in a very short time mobile internet has become a succes in sweden. The internet providers 3 and tele 2 together with ericsson has taken this one step further. within the next quarter of a year it will be possible to surf the internet with up to 21 MB/s. they will be the first country in europe to have internet at this speed. it will come within the first 3-4 months of 2009. they will have a commercial in april. it will only be available first in gothenburg,malmö and stockholm.

Dragonskin Slippers-book review

Creel’s aunt abandons her outside a dragon’s cave and expects a brave knight to come and save her then the whole family would end up in a castle where the conditions are much better.

The dragon is old and does not want to fight with a knight so he promised Creel a pair of slippers if she would leave. In the end she became the owner of a very special pair of dragon skin slippers which she did not know in the beginning what its worth.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Mircrosoft Flight Simulator is the latest Simulater in the game world.

I have this game but it works not so good because I have not the best computer.

You need a computer with a processor from maximum 3,5 GHz, 3,000 MB RAM and you need 15GB hard drive for the game.

At the left there is the game befor it is fs 2004 and at the right there is the new one fsx.

Protests in Bangkok

The Thai Peoples Alliance for democracy movement stormed into Bangkok yesterday. They were protesting at Thailand’s prime minister called Somchai Wongsawat. Thousands of people were left stranded because of this. Now authorities have to close down a second airport named Don Muang airport. The chief of the Protestants has asked for Somchai Wongsawat to step down as president and hold new elections but so far it hasn’t resulted.

At least 80 people have been killed, hundreds more hurt and many taken hostage during a series of terror attacks in Mumbai.
At least seven sites have been targeted across the south of the city by terrorists armed with explosives and automatic weapons.
Gunmen struck at several high-profile tourist areas in the city, including hotels, a popular tourist cafe and a crowded train station.
At least 86 people have died and 250 have been hurt - although the final figures could be much higher.
A major fire broke out at the scene of one of the attacks, the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, where some people are still trapped and rescuers are trying to reach them.
Others are being held hostage elsewhere across the city, reports say.
Eyewitness reports say the attackers were targeting Britons and Americans.
Alex Chamberlain, a Briton caught in the attacks, told Sky News an attacker asked tourists if they were British or American before opening fire.He added there was "no doubt" in his mind the attacks were from a fundamentalist Islamic group.
Conservative MEP Sajjad Karim was trapped in the Taj Palace Hotel in the southern part of the city as one of the attacks took place.
He told Sky News: "There was a lot of commotion in the main lobby, and then another gunman came right in front of us and started shooting.
"I saw a number of people go down, but I was fortunate enough to get away."
He added: "We've no idea what is going on outside."
Barry Moses, who lived in Mumbai for two years, told Sky News online the Taj Mahal hotel is the city's main luxury hotel, next to the Gates of India.

He added the restaurant Leopold's, which is "just around the corner" is popular with tourists and backpackers.
He said: "It's in all the books as a destination to go to. There will be very few Indians in there.
"I'm guessing, if anyone has been shot in the restaurant, they will include foreign nationals."Four terror suspects have been killed and nine arrested, police say.
Eleven police officers were killed in the clashes.
A group calling itself the "Deccan Mujahedeen" has claimed responsibility for the attacks, according to the Press Trust of India.

This is a great movie by Quentin Tarantino. It is about a woman who wants to get revenge on Bill and his companions. In this movie she manages to kill Japan´s worst killer and all her body guards (88 of those) but she is not satisfied she must kill every one of them. She does not in this movie but maybe she will in volume 2.

Spore

Spore is a great game where you desine your own creatures and then play with them. There are five different stages that you play in. The first stage is the cell stage where you make an ameba and swim around and eat meat or sea plants. The second stage is the creature stage where you make a creature with legs and arms and walk around either making other species extinct or you befriend them. On the third stage your species get so smart and create a tribe. In the tribal stage you create an outfit and fight other tribal species or befriend them and your species eventually take over your planet. The fourth stage is when your species from around the world create cities and become enemies. You can either have wars with military cars,boats and planes that you build or you can create a trade route with economy cars, boats and planes that you build and eventually buy those cities. The final stage is the space stage where you create a space ship and go to other planets and either just create a city on an empty planet or buy a planet from another species or have a war and get their planet by force.
I would really recommend this game to all you people reading this. I personally am on the space stage and i really love it.

Too much video games!

Too much video game’s!
A fifteen year old boy collapsed after playing the game, World of Warcraft for 20 hours straight! "They played all day and night. Maybe they got a few hours of sleep. They ate a little food and breakfast at their computers" said the boy’s father. At about 2:00 PM the boy had a seizure. At the hospital the doctors said that the boy's bodily system had a lack of sleep and food. Also too long concentrating playing the game! The boy will make a full recovery but his dad is planning to limit his time on the computer. Officials from the Game Over treatment centre in Linkoping, in central Sweden have noticed many calls from concerned parents since the release of the latest World of Warcraft instalment, Wrath of the Lich. “It’s been a huge problem. We have parents who call everyday,” said Game Over’s Emilie Backlund. She has seen a steady rise in computer game addiction, with most cases, from those playing online fantasy games such as World of Warcraft and Counter Strike. "It’s not only a problem for young people. Adults have also contacted us. It really doesn’t matter how old you are"So beware how long you are on the computer.

Twilight

Twilight is a very interesting book and movie. When people over the whole world heard about it they wanted to buy the book directly. It’s so popular! The movie is about a teenager girl called Bella that falls in love with a vampire called Eduard. She is and outsider in her school and she is aware of that and that’s because she wants to be on her own. Later on in the movie she finds out that the boy who saved here from the the car crash that he’s a vampire and then he asks her, `` Are you afraid of me? `` And she answers no. Also there are some vampires that come back in time. One of the vampires wants to suck Bella’s blood but Eduard fights against the vampire and it dies. He said to Bella, `` You are my life, ``. I highly recommend it. It’s very dramatic and interesting. It came on cinema the 21 of November 2008. By the way Twilight means dawn(after sunrise)

The Spanish league is very interesting. Fast flowing football and some of the worlds best players. But this year has held very amazing matches with the best teams losing. As we see in the table below all good teams aren’t in the top.

So far this season the English football league or the premier league has been the most exciting. There have been ups and downs for most teams. And the the best of it all is that the lower teams are in the fight for the title. And as we see the table below we can see it is quite tight.

Sandwich assult

Emmanuelle Rodriguez from Florida,U.S.A,hit a sandwich in his girlfriends face while she was driving. The hit made her lose her glasses.Mr.Rodriguez is charged with domestic battery and child abuse for what he did.This while Emmanuelle,his girlfriend Brittany and their 7 month old child were driving to their new house in Fort Pierce,Florida.The child was asleep when Emmanuelle got really mad and started hitting Brittany.She was shouting to him to stop and she was worried she might lose control since she couldn't see.Emmanuelle then ripped of the mirror on the front window and started hitting the window with it.Brittany then exited the interstate and told Emmanuelle to get out.
Emmanuelle had told the police that he didn't want to hit Brittany so he hit her with a sandwich instead.

Halo2

Halo 2 is a very good game but it has a worse plot than halo combat evolved. The weaponry and enemies have improved which makes the game fun. This game brings back one of the main crisis in halo combat evolved. This makes you feel as if the 1st and the 2nd game are the same.In this game you can play as the Covenant as well as the UNSC. The Covenant have new troops, weapons and veichles. The game is more exciting and challenging than its older version and overall it is a better game than the first one.

There is a new movie (Madagascar 2) coming out around the 21 on November. It is said to be an Animation, Action, Adventure, Comedy, Family and Even more. Ben Stiller is doing Alex's voice. Chris Rock is doing Marty's voice (hes the zebra). David Schwimmer is doing Melman's voice (he's the giraffe). Jada Pinkett Smith is doing Gloria's voice (the hippopotamus). The movie will be about 95 minutes long.

Book Review-Why The Whales Came

I haven’t finished this book but it is really good! It's about a Gracie and her friend Daniel. They live on a island; close to other ones. One of the islands they live close to is said to be cursed. Samson Island. They also say that the Birdman is a dangerous person. He lives alone on Rushy bay. When one day Daniel suggested they sail to rushy bay, they soon discoverd the truth. Birdman wasn't as people said he was. He was kind and friendly.One day they sailed to where the Birdman lived and they found his initials written with shells on the sand. The next time they found a carved cormorant made by the Birdman. Soon they began to have conversations, asking and answering about eachother. Though they haven't met eachother yet. As i said i didnt finish the whole book, but i have read the short summary on the back of the book:

Gracie and her friend Daniel ignore the warning, and they discover the Birdman is not mad and dangerous, as everyone says. Yet he claims Samson Island is cursed and tells them to stay away...
After the children are stranded on Samson by fog, Gracie returns home to learn of a tragic death. Could the Birdman be right after all?

Children found stabbed in Manchester

(the property the children were found in)

A baby (three months old) and a child (three years old) were found stabbed to death in a property in the Cheetham hill area of Manchester.
There is a big investigation on finding the murderer of these poor children. This was told by one of the Manchester policemen.
They do say that the wounds were around the chest of both the children.
The ambulance was alerted at around 5:45 A.M. and they were at the scene directly, unfortunately to late.
There had been a lot of criminal activity around not only the family but around the whole area for a while.
Police are still not entirely sure the children were stabbed by someone else. The police say even though its likely to be a murder it can be the three year old playing with a knife and by accident stabbing her sister then herself but that’s very unlikely.

News from Pakistan: Iranian Diplomat Kidnapped

Hasmatullah Atharzadeh,the commercial attache from the Iranian consulate in Peshawar,
was driving to the Hayatabad part of town from his house,where the consulate is, when he was suddenly abducted by a minimum amount of 4 gunmen.
On Wednesday the 12th of November gunmen,that are believed to be the kidnappers,had shot and killed an American aid worker in Peshawar.The American turned out to be a man called Stephen D. Vance.Vance Was directing a creation and workforce development project in Peshawar.

The book Whale rider, we all read in English with Gail. We also watched the movie. The whale rider is about a girl called Kahu that was born. She was soposed to be a boy. Koro was very mad. The new born was suposed to be the new leader of their tribe. But a girl cant be leader. But she can talk to whales.

The length is 15,96m and the height is 5,28 m.

The countrys Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom buy the Eurofighter.

Finally! Bush has stepped down from being president for eight years and someone has taken his place! But this isn't just someone. He's made history by being the first African black president in America! He was very high in the voting’s at such an early stage; it's no surprise he won. But in the final count, he was only about thirty votes above his competitor! For Barack Obama, the visit marked a series of personal firsts: His first trip back to the nation's capital since his victory over Senator John McCain last week. His first limousine ride in Washington; on the campaign trail, Obama typically rode in a much more understated sport utility vehicle. His first time inside the Oval Office; although Obama had been to the White House before, he had never set foot inside the storied office that symbolizes American power around the world.Some people still think it's wrong to have him as president but more people think its right. Theft in Bladins

You might be noticing this, that student's stuff gets stolen once in a while. Last week, I had my mobile phone in my bag. Then i went to Swedish lesson, my bag was on my hook in the corridor. After that lesson, my bag pockets were all zipped open and my phone was gone. Obviously it was stolen.

On that exact same day, my friend's mobile and keys (home + bike + locker) got stolen the exact same way. Few days later my other friend's mobile and 50 kr was stolen.

We do have lockers to put our valueables in. Well, only MYP students. I suggest that PYP teachers should have a safe place in the classroom to keep everyones valueable belongings. Some students who does have lockers still loose things because they don't put their things in their lockers! I don't blame them because you can't always remember to do that.

If anyone of you sees someone stealing anything, please tell the teachers. We need to find out who has been stealing our things ASAP!

Halo Combat Evolved

In this review i shall be talking about my fav game ever.It is called Halo Combat evolved I have finished the whole game and I LOVE it. The graphics are really good and the plot interests you a lot. The game flows really well and the combat is fantastic. The enemies are cool and the gun sounds are realistic. The situations they put you in are very realistic and have realistic strategys and tactics. So in total this is an amazingly good game.
